Mechanical Engineering is a pioneer department of the college and offers both under graduate and postgraduate course (M.Tech Machine Design). Well-qualified and highly experienced faculty shoulders the department. The Department boasts of three professors, one Associate professor, and twelve Assistant Professors, all postgraduates with specializations in diversified and everlasting fields of mechanical engineering. The specializations are well balanced to cater to the needs of students effectively.

The Laboratories are spacious and well equipped with experimental set ups over and above the requirements of the curriculum. Qualified and well-trained staff members assist the laboratory work and practical knowledge is given due prominence. The flexible manufacturing system in the CAD/CAM laboratory is first of its kind in Andhra Pradesh established with a total cost of RS. 30 Lakhs.

Lesson plans are designed and strictly implemented, to ensure complete and timely coverage of syllabus as per the norms laid by the JNTU. Classroom teaching is supplemented with modern teaching aids.

The department has initiated R&D activities through sponsored projects from AICTE-New Delhi and In-house R&D. For the past four years the department faculty has published over 100 papers in various International & National journals and also in the International & National Conferences.

The department is in constant touch with industries and signed MOU’s with four prominent industries – Liners India Ltd, Satyakala Power projects Pvt Ltd, Arabindo polyfilms Ltd and Sunlight metal works. Industrial visits are arranged for the better understanding of the subject through visual observation. Guest lectures are arranged for the formal understanding of methodologies and a technique practiced in the industry.Emphasis is laid on live projects and fabrication.

In addition to the formal education with an intensive practical exposure, the inherent talents of the students are explored and strengthened through regular counseling and personality development sessions.

Students are encouraged and guided to present papers, attend workshops and seminars to get them acquainted with the latest and recent trends in science and technology.

Training in Reasoning and soft skills in intensively provided from the II Year level and as a result large number of our students are being recruited by reputed companies and industries like Infotech, SATYAM, Infosys, , Criotor, Sonata, Essar Steels Power Mech, Thermal India etc.
